Speaking
Speaks internationally on
Most conference sessions give attendees a framework to remember. Newbold's give them a diagnosis of their own situation to act on.
- Why your strategy isn't working (and it's not the strategy's fault)
- The output trap: how product teams mistake activity for impact
- The conversation that decides whether your OKRs work, and why most exec teams avoid it
- Building a product operating model that survives contact with reality
- Where AI actually creates leverage in a product business (and the layer most teams miss)

The work, the why, and the track record

Clients include SEEK, Carsales, Scalapay, BAE Systems, Inteleos, and Foundr. Based in Melbourne, Australia. Known for making strategy executable and building the operating conditions that let great teams do their best work. Before founding OKR Quickstart, Newbold spent a decade in product leadership, living the same pattern from the inside. Sharp people, real ambition, genuine effort, still ending every quarter with a gap between where they said they'd be and where they actually landed.
His work covers three connected problems: getting strategy clear enough that the whole business can act on it, building a Product Operating Model that gives everyone a defined role in delivering value, and embedding OKRs that keep the business pointed at what actually matters. These three are deliberately combined. A strategy without an operating model is a slide deck. An operating model without meaningful goals is process theatre. OKRs without exec alignment are just another planning cycle nobody believes in.
At Domino's, aligning leadership on a tight set of quarterly priorities contributed to 30%+ sales growth in a single quarter, across 12 countries. Matt Kershaw, Global Head of People Development, called it "an absolute standout." At Findex, after six months embedding a Product Operating Model across a distributed workforce, Head of Digital Theodore Rosenthal publicly told around 47 staff: "It's actually been like the biggest enabler for the product operating model to actually come to fruition within our workforce." At Inteleos, the OKR portfolio was refined from 31 objectives down to 15, and four of their five seven-year goals are now tracking for full achievement ahead of schedule.
Newbold has worked with 70+ organisations across Australia, the US, Europe, and the Middle East, including SEEK, Carsales, BAE Systems, Pepperstone, Foundr, and Greenpeace. He works best with founders who want to close the gap between their strategy and their calendar, with executive teams ready to trade busyness for precision, and with product leaders whose teams keep running into the same structural ceiling.
